Help Bring Baseball To The Littles

Each year, I’ve tried to get my oldest son down to Florida to experience spring training.  This year I bring my youngest with us as well.  We’re going to catch two games and hopefully a few training sessions.

This year I also expose him to a tradition my son and started 3 years back.  Each year when we purchase our tickets, we try to buy 2 or 4 additional tickets that we donate to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa.  We feel that if we’re able to enjoy a game or two, someone a bit less fortunate should as well.

So, we are trying to spread the word and have more folks donate some tickets if they are able to.  In the past, Chad Jennings, of Lohud.com, was nice enough to help spread the word and we had a few folks donate.  Thanks Chad!

I urge you to consider donating.  The link to the Yanks spring training tickets is here.  Also the Spring Training Online site is a great one for other teams if you decide to donate.

If you decide to donate, please let me know and I can help get you in contact with the right folks.  You can reach me on Twitter at @MikeLawrenceNJ or email me at mike (at) classiccards.com.

Thanks for considering to lend a hand.

The Old Days? Jeter and ARod

I came across the wildest video on Youtube the other day.  It’s an old interview in 1998 of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez on Fox.  They go on about their friendship and some ribbing they give each other.

One particularly good one is when Jeter FedEx’d his 1996 World Series ring to ARod and then called him asking him to send it back.  There are few other interesting tidbits for fans of theirs.

Check it out here.
