There is an interesting article from Chad Jennings over at Lohud.com. It goes into how David Robertson of the New York Yankees got noticed. Chad writes that Damon Oppenheimer (scouting director for the Yankees) happened to be good friends with the head coach of the independent league team for which David Robertson played. The coach reached out to Oppenheimer and the rest was history. Robertson got his shot.
